Blackbird Cottage is in the tiny village of Le Soudet with six other detached housesin the heart of the Charente countryside.

Sunflowers are grown here and are in great abundance in the fields surrounding us. There is very little traffic and the fields are threaded with cycle routes for visitors to explore. The nearest shops are 6km away in the market town of Chasseneuil sur Bonnieure which has a Lidl and a Supermarche with Petrol station and car hire and Saturday Market. Also its own small cinema and indoor swimming pool. There are several restaurants, cafes and boulangeries.
